Raquel McCorvey is a health professional and Medspa entrepreneur dedicated to
empowering others and making a positive impact on their lives. Raised in the
close-knit community of Cecilia, Louisiana, by her loving parents and
grandparents, Raquel was instilled with values of compassion, resilience, and
empathy from a young age.
Her educational journey began at Louisiana State University at Eunice, where
she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing, setting the stage for a successful
career in healthcare. Driven by her thirst for knowledge and a desire to
excel, she pursued higher education. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in
Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the prestigious University of
St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.
With her ongoing commitment to mental health and a passion for serving others,
Raquel pursued a post-masters Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
certificate from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This
additional training equipped her with specialized skills to address the unique
challenges of mental health and provide comprehensive care to her patients.
Throughout her career, Raquel’s warmth and compassion have endeared her to
patients, allowing her to form strong connections and provide personalized
care. She firmly believes in a holistic approach to healthcare, recognizing
the vital connection between physical and mental well-being.
As a dual-certified family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health
nurse practitioner, Raquel’s expertise spans various areas of healthcare. Her
desire to empower women of color to embrace their beauty and self-worth led
her to establish BeLuxxe Health and Wellness Medspa in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Inspired by her membership in the Black Nurse Entrepreneur (BNE) organization
and her attendance at a BNE conference, she realized that her MedSpa aligned
perfectly with her passion to uplift and inspire others.
Beyond her driving career, Raquel remains deeply engaged in her community. She
serves as a board member for her local Council on Aging and advocates for
mental health awareness and accessible healthcare services. She volunteers her
time and expertise to make a positive difference in the lives of those around
her.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Raquel cherishes her role as a devoted
mother and grandmother. She finds joy in playing tennis, attending sporting
events, and creating lasting memories with her family.
